This course provides students with the background and information on how to develop and implement training programs and to condition behaviors. Students will learn and concentrate on utilization positive reinforcement techniques. |

REQUIRED COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Identify differences between classical and operant conditioning.
2. Apply and understand how and why training is used on captive animals.
3. Adjust training techniques based on individuality of animals.
4. Differentiate between positive and negative reinforcement applications.
5. Train basic behaviors.
6. Explore the importance of and research for the natural history of animals in training programs.
7. Apply learned record keeping and data compilation skills.
