Course Description: | Explores how different cultures have understood women’s sexuality and the power of femininity. The course addresses theories of sexuality and erotic power, women’s sexualities across cultures and throughout the lifespan, the perception of sexuality in religion and history, and creative visualizations of women’s sexuality in literature, visual, musical and performance art.~~This course is a part of the Statewide Guaranteed Transfer courses. Standard Competencies:
1. Describe how the sexuality of women is interpreted and influenced by society, institutions, belief systems and various media, in different historical periods, across cultures and throughout the lifespan.
2. Read, analyze and apply a variety of sources and points of view to understand problems and issues of women’s sexuality.
3. Write and speak clearly and logically in presentations and essays.
4. Demonstrate the ability to select and apply contemporary forms of technology to solve problems or compile information.
