REQUIRED COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Demonstrate basic knowledge of operation methods of a layout and fabrication shop.
2. Select different processes utilizing operations time and machines for maximum production.
3. Demonstrate methods of fabrication and holding parts to be welded.
4. Apply the knowledge learned in blueprint reading to laboratory related experiences.
REQUIRED TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Follow shop safety practices.
II. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
III. Follow guidelines prescribed in course progress chart.
IV. Perform basic addition, subtraction, division and multiplication with whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
V. Perform linear, angular, four-sided, triangular and circular measurements.
VI. Calculate volume, weight of weldments.
VII. Calculate using percentages.
VIII. Perform metric conversions.
IX. Layout cones, eclipse, pipe elbows and pipe t-connections.
