REQUIRED COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of AWS Welding Standards.
2. Demonstrate the ability to produce sound welds in accordance with American Welding Society Standards.
3. Identify and interpret weld discontinuities.
4. Evaluate and demonstrate the safe operation of equipment associated with the testing process.
REQUIRED TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Select an AWS code or specification to be used for qualification testing.
II. Select a welding process.
III. Fill out proper testing documents.
IV. Prepare plates in accordance with given parameters.
V. Perform welding process.
VI. Prepare test for proper testing procedures.
VII. Have test specimens inspected.
