  Title:Inter Multi Process Welding
  Long Title:Intermediate Multi Process Welding
  Course Description:Covers welding in the 3FU and 3GU positions on various joint configurations using the SMAW (stick), GMAW (mig), GTAW (tig) and the FCAW (flux core) welding process on carbon steel, adjusting operating parameters and operating equipment utilizing the various filler materials for each process. Basic metallurgy will be presented.

 REQUIRED COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
 1.  Demonstrate shop safety practices.
 2.  Maintain a clean, safe work area.
 3.  Follow assigned instructions to complete work assignments.
 4.  Perform safety inspections on SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and FCAW equipment.
 5.  Operate SMAW.GMAW, GTAW and FCAW welding equipment.
 6.  Perform a guided bend tests using all four welding processes in the 3GU position.
 7.  Exhibit basic metallurgy knowledge pertaining to the affect and weldability of different metals and weld joints.
 8.  Demonstrate computer skills by accessing lab assignments, tests, worksheets, videos and power points.

 I.    Safety:
        A.  Personal protective equipment.
        B.  Shop maintenance and clean up.
        C.  Proper use of equipment and machines.
 II.    Machine setup and operation:
        A.  Adjusting operating parameters.
        B.  Weld process.
        C.  Type of filler metal.
        D.  Welding position.
        E.  Joint type and fit up.
        F.  Material thickness.
 III.    Welding processes and filler metals (carbon steel)
        A.  SMAW 3/32-1/8 electrode.
        B.  GMAW .045 electrode.
        C.  FCAW .045 electrode.
        D.  GTAW 1/16-3/32 electrode.
 IV.  Types of welds and positions:
        A.  Fillet and groove welds.
        B.  3FU fillet vertical, 3GU vertical groove.
 V.    Layout and metal preparation:
        A.  Utilize advanced measuring and math skills figuring volumes, areas and weights.
        B.  Apply bevel cuts and grinding techniques.
        C.  Interpret advanced print reading and weld symbol identification utilizing complex drawings.
        D.  Demonstrate knowledge of basic drawings (isometric and orthographic).
 VII.    Weld testing:
        A.  Visual inspections (non-destructive).
        B.  Guided bend all processes, 3GU specific per A.W.S. D1.1 code.
 VIII.  Metallurgy:
