 REQUIRED COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
 1.  Inspect, set up, and operate Oxygen-fuel cutting (OFC) equipment.
 2.  Inspect, set up, and operate Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC) equipment.
 3.  Inspect, set up, and operate Carbon Arc Cutting (CAC) equipment.
 4.  Inspect, set-up, and operate Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) equipment.
 5.  Inspect, set-up, and operate Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW) equipment.
 6.  Identify, explain and apply the fundamental principles and variables of each process being used.
 7.  Demonstrate successful set up, welding, and testing of V-groove welds to American Welding Society (AWS) D15.1 code tests in the 1G position.
 8.  Pass AWS D15.1 welder certification tests in the 1G position.


 REQUIRED TOPICAL OUTLINE:
 I.    Follow shop safety practices
 II.    Maintain a clean, safe work area
 III.    Prepare assigned records
 IV.    Follow assigned instructions to complete work assignments
 V.    Participate in assigned cutting, gouging or welding tasks
 VI.    OFC Equipment
        A.  Inspect and set up OFC equipment
        B.  Operate OFC equipment
        C.  Cut pieces using OFC to quantity and dimension specified by instructor
 VII.    PAC Equipment
        A.  Inspect and set up PAC equipment
        B.  Operate PAC equipment
        C.  Cut pieces using PAC to the quantity and dimension specified by the instructor
        D.  Gouge using PAC to remove the backing strip from saw cut test coupons
 VIII.    CAC equipment
        A.  Inspect and set up CAC equipment
        B.  Operate CAC equipment
        C.  Gouge using CAC to remove backing strips from welded V-groove plates
 IX.    Perform padding using SMAW E-6010 and E-7018 electrodes in the flat position
 X.    Perform Fillet welds using SMAW E-7018 electrodes in the Horizontal position
 XI.    Perform padding using FCAW in the flat position
 XII.    Perform fillet weld using FCAW in the Horizontal position
 XIII.    Understand, explain and apply the fundamental principles of the process being used
 XIV.    Identify the variables for the welding process being used
 XV.    Identify the difference between welder qualification and welder certification
 XVI.    Perform a V-groove D15.1 certification test, including gouging to remove the backing strip, in the flat position using SMAW E-7018
 XVII.    Successfully pass AWS D15.1 code tests in the 1G position using SMAW E-7018
 XVIII.    Perform a V-groove D15.1 certification test, including gouging to remove the backing strip, in the flat position using FCAW
 XIX.    Successfully pass AWS D15.1 code tests in the 1G position using FCAW
