STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Breakdown a script into its component parts.
II. Describe a script in terms of its structure, purpose , action, and character relationships.
III. Synthesize the above components into a director¿s approach to play.
IV. Demonstrate the ability to create effective stage composition.
V. Compare various theatrical spaces and their strengths and weaknesses.
VI. Develop and draw ground plans for stage plays.
VII. Demonstrate effective communication techniques when working with actors, designers, and stage personnel.
VIII. Explain various acting techniques and be able to apply these techniques in actor work.
IX. Identify historical concepts as well as current trends in directing for the stage.
