STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Understand the basics of design theory as applied to Theatrical Design
II. Demonstrate knowledge of painting and rendering for Stage, Costume or Lighting Design.
III. Understand and demonstrate basic techniques of Theatrical Model Construction.
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Research and construction of a ¿Model¿ Proscenium Stage
A. Basic Drafting- the first step
B. Drafting for the Model
C. Cutting and pasting techniques
D. Painting the Model
E. Finishing the Model
II. Painting landscapes and figures
A. Black and white Gouache
B. Color Gouache
III. Pen and Ink technique
A. Sketching using India Ink, this will include both Costume and Scenic sketches
IV. Portfolio techniques
A. Creating the best Portfolio for ¿you¿
B. Graphic styles and fine tuning
V. Creating final renderings, paintings and models for design portfolios.
A. Choose Scenery, Lighting or Costume Design. Create a Portfolio Design of quality work.
B. This will include research techniques in creating a Designer`s vision.
