  Course Description:Emphasizes the ski repair shop as a profit center, techniques of ski repair and ski tuning. Provides students with advanced skills associated with proper machine and tool use, edge repair, delaminations, and introduces them to binding inspection and mounting adjustment. Advanced structuring and waxing techniques and evaluate and prioritize ski and board repairs to ensure product reliability and safety are covered.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Synthesize ski shop safety procedures and evaluate shop air quality, proper tool and machinery operation, and shop equipment maintenance.
 II.     Analyze and synthesize the construction and materials used in ski/board manufacturing and the application of new, advanced technology manufacturing techniques with an emphasis on Torsion Box, Cap, and Monocoque.
 III.    Evaluate the use of glues vice epoxies for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers and snowboarders.
 IV.     Evaluate and use advanced repair techniques for damaged skis, to include base welds, sidewall repair, and P-Tex applications.
 V.      Synthesize different ski and board tuning techniques, to include wax mixing, edge beveling, and hand tuning vice machine tuning for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers to include World Cup level race tuning.
 VI.     Synthesize and evaluate advanced binding mounting techniques to include emphasis on ¿system¿ ski mountings and board stance and balancing techniques.
 VII.    Synthesize and evaluate profit and loss considerations in operating a ski repair shop, to include report generation and time management skills
