  Course Description:Demonstrate the basic principles of producing and promoting a product using promotion techniques and online media components for the Action-Sport industry. Students will develop strategies for product launches and promotion by utilizing all facets available. Students will create strategies for measuring, analyzing and assessing the industry, markets and risk factors for product launches. Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to present their project to prospective brands, companies, or other outlets.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 1. Evaluate and select product launch and promotion strategies via hands-on experience to maximize exposure and return on investment.
 
 2. Illustrate the mechanics and effects of using online media content to aid the promotion of the product within the timeframe and budget constraints outlined.
 
 3. Create media content that utilizes cutting edge techniques to generate interest
 
 4. Create and utilize cutting edge techniques and media content to distinguish the product from competitors.
 
 5. Evaluate the subliminal technical inputs that manipulate audience reactions to promotion strategies.
 
 6. Critique and analyze the marketplace in terms of risk factors, target market, and promotional decisions with respect to a product.
 
 7. Create a detailed product promotional strategy outlining media and human resource needs.
 
 8. Identify and create a media launch strategy utilizing industry trends and information.
 


 TOPICAL OUTLINE:
 
 Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to demonstrate knowledge and/or skill in the following areas:
 
 I. Create a product promotion launch via multiple medias and events
 II. Select proper outlets to promote and attract target audience
 III. Determine promotional messaging and marketing for product launch.
 IV. Evaluate event site selection and risk factors based on target audience
 V. Analyze techniques of media production to solicit audience reaction
 VI. Create short media projects to showcase products and promotional elements.
 VII. Devise feedback loop to measure project success
