Course Description: | Teaches proper grooming, packing and slope conditioning techniques to maximize skier safety and enjoyment, and utilizing minimum snowfall to provide an adequate skiing base. Various over-the-snow vehicles and their capabilities and limitations will be dealt with, including grooming implements. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Identify the historical evaluation and grooming activities and equipment
II. Identify various types of grooming implements and their application.
III. Determine the priority of packing and other grooming operations in order to provide safe and enjoyable skiing.
IV. Develop a knowledge of specific problems related to the grooming operations and identify potential solutions.
V. Describe the various grooming vehicles and their individual operating characteristics.
