STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
A. Complete the required number of hours at the internship location. Observe and/or participate in the operations of the following functions as applicable in the news, production or promotions department of a TV station or allied industry.
1. floor manager and lighting
2. audio & video department
3. technical control operations
4. studio camera operation
5. master control operations
6. graphics/art departments
7. news assignment control
8. tape editing
9. field ENG operations
10. promotions department
11. commercial production or any other professional activities. (I)
B. Attend applicable meetings. (I)
C. Complete weekly written progress reports. (II)
D. Complete required evaluation paper on the entire internship experience. (II)
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. The student will secure or be assigned a specific work station location (PPCC TV lab, LRC media center) with the instructor`s approval.
II. The student will utilize professional attitudes and responsibilities for internship location operations and FCC obligations.
