STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Produce professional-quality electronic field production (EFP) and electronic news gathering (ENG) segments from brainstorming ideas to distribution of final product
II. Assemble, test, monitor and record with standard video field production equipment
III. Collect, label, and safely catalog and store video media that was gathered in the field
IV. Plan and edit field footage recorded in out-of-sequence or cinema style into final products
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. -Roles and competencies of field crew members
II. -Procedures and protocols of video field production; gaining permissions, access, etc.
III. -Difficulties and techniques of gathering audio and video in the field
IV. -Analyzing and confidence monitoring of audio and video in the field; engineer¿s considerations
V. -Setting up and using field broadcast and recording equipment; safety and best practices
VI. -Lighting utilization and existing light manipulation techniques in the field
VII. -Nomenclature of connectors, cabling, signals and configuration of field equipment
VIII. -Editing collected footage or transferring it to an editable digital format through Firewire, etc.
