STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Create a production design using video aesthetic principles
II. Write a production treatment, script, storyboard, editing treatment etc.
III. Videotape short projects which demonstrates technical and aesthetic competency in picture composition, audio, lighting, and set.
IV. Digitally edit short projects demonstrating technical and aesthetic competency in organization of visual, audio, and text elements.
V. Demonstrate adherence to legal rules and ethical considerations.
VI. Write a detailed analysis of their projects covering technical, aesthetic, legal and ethical issues and competencies.
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Design Elements: picture composition, audio, lighting, text, legal and ethical issues, analysis.
II. Design format: Treatments, scripts, storyboards, timelines, location/set surveys, edit logs, legal releases.
III. Camera technology: digital video, zoom lens, F Stops, White Balance, AE Shift, Digital Audio, etc.
IV. Editing Design: Continuity and Complexity Style Editing
V. Editing Software: Types of basic visual and audio editing; transitions, text, filters, and motion.
