STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Manage production (serve as Producer) of a student-produced cable TV program in the studio and on location including storyboarding, taping, editing, segment production and distribution to cable broadcast
II. Manage teamwork of a TV production team, including studio and remote production units
III. Apply leadership skills, such as responsibility, professionalism, hospitality to guests and public at location shoot, work with other campus groups, basic studio etiquette, respect for self and others in all aspects of the production process from idea inception to broadcast
IV. Gain approvals, access, crowd control, cooperation with local authorities, etc.
V. Apply general budgeting practices, considerations, procurement and management of partnerships, donations and sponsorships
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. -Management of a production team and all facets of studio and on-location production and broadcast operations
II. -Real application of standard production management procedures, protocols and techniques of video studio and field production
III. -Oversight of technical analysis and confidence monitoring of program audio and video in studio and out; engineer¿s considerations
IV. -Oversight of studio and remote video shooting sets and equipment; safety and best practices
V. -Scheduling and budgeting of video equipment for technical and aesthetic production needs
VI. -Procurement, management and oversight of assembly of footage into a live broadcast
