STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Direction and delivery of newscasts (I)
II. Camera movements and pre-production techniques. (I)
III. Establish and set up of lighting. (I)
IV. Act as technical director for weathercasts and other productions (II)
V. Understand and demonstrate proper chroming techniques and effects (II)
VI. Demonstrate special effects shots for sportscasts and other productions (III)
VII. Act in selected positions for advanced studio productions (III)
VIII. Design and format a :30 minute newscast or other production (III)
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. The student will understand advanced operations of a television production studio.
II. The student will plan and format a local television newscast/productions using available in class productions for support
III. UNIT I
A. Develop, rehearse and produce a five minute newscast using moving camera shots and supporting graphics and video
IV. UNIT II
A. Act as the technical director, director during the weathercast production to include acting as talent and in support of the director.
V. UNIT III
A. Development and direction of sportscast and other productions using effects shots and available video for support. Assign, produce, and direct a 30 minute newscast or other production.
