STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Development of news stories in format (I)
II. Scripts and the creative sequence to include producing and directing (I)
III. Application of sets and graphics used in various productions (I)
IV. On camera concerns and disciplines, ENG and EFP production techniques (II)
V. Multicamera production on different field and studio productions (II)
VI. Legal and ethical procedures (III)
VII. Examine advanced effects and video switching operations (III)
VIII. Institutional video and other forms of broadcasting (III)
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. The student will understand advanced operations of a television production studio.
II. The student will plan and format a local television newscast/productions using available in class productions for support
III. UNIT I
A. Advanced techniques to development of news copy, and proper production/direction techniques
IV. UNIT II
A. The student will learn proper on camera concerns and direction of talent, evaluate a local television production through what they have learned and through testing understand the purpose for camera shots, lighting, audio, and studio direction for single camera and multi camera productions.
V. UNIT III
A. The student will consider advanced effects and it¿s purposes and the different video formats, and their role in regards to ethical and legal guidelines for television production.
