STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Produce an audio segment with segues and music editing that establishes mood/place/time changes. Utilize the radio lab audio boards and equipment and produce the segment with digital editing software. (I)
II. Produce a non-verbal edited demo using sound effects only to create a ¿picture of the mind¿ production with digital editing software. (II)
III. Write and produce a commercial using voice and music with digital editing software. (III)
IV. Write and produce a feature using voice, sound effects and music. (IV)
V. Write and produce 4 commercials using voice, sound effects and music for Radio and TV. The student must use multi-tracking software. (V)
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Principles - The student will examine the basic sound and acoustics. The student will examine audio software.
II. Equipment - The student will examine audio equipment for on-air and production. The student will examine production software.
III. Sound Design - The student will examine psychoacoustics and the emotional dimension of sound.
IV. Production - The student will examine common production procedures used by Radio and TV stations.
V. Post production - The student will examine multi-track editing and the packing of production projects.
