STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Produce a half-hour music program following a specific format. (I)
II. Produce commercials following a specific format with digital production software. (II)
III. Produce commercials following a specific format using editing and multi-track techniques with digital production software. (II)
IV. Produce a newscast following a specific format. (III)
V. Produce a half hour audition following a specific format with music, announcing and news. (III)
VI. Telescope the audition tape. (III)
VII. Produce a half hour audition following a standard program log that emulates a commercial radio station with announcing and news. (III)
VIII. Telescope the commercial station audition tape. (III)
IX. Produce a special news feature following a specific format using digital production software (IV)
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. The student will examine and identify the equipment in the labs. They will practice typical on-air and production techniques.
II. The student will write commercials and use professional concepts to produce the commercials.
III. The student will write news stories and practice news reading concepts.
IV. The student will examine professional techniques used to produce on-air programs and audition tapes.
