This course will also provide the student with individual topics such as quality control, leadership, strategic planning, information systems, and sport research. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Demonstrate the role of management in sport, fitness and recreational organizations and facilities from a financial and legal standpoint.
II. Articulate on budget preparation and implementation, as well as the role of fund raising from corporate sponsors
III. Effectively choose proper leadership/managerial styles
IV. Prepare a Risk Management Program to measure their programs and facilities in the legal and social responsibilities setting.
V. Demonstrate the need for personnel management practices and human resources issues such as Title IX, ADA, and transition from athletics to career.
VI. Identify career opportunities in sport business
VII. Examine current issues in sports management and their possible solutions, and skills associated with effective managerial strategies.
VIII. To formulate a promotional plan or media advertisement project for programs or consulting firm in the sport industry
IX. Complete a research project over subject of interest in the field of sport management on a minimum of 8 pages
