STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. To introduce students to the science of range management.
II. To acquaint the students to the plant morphology and physiolgy in relation to Range Management.
III. To reinforce the delicate nature of the renewable range and resource.
IV. To enable students to identify and classify 70% of the range species discussed in lecture and laboratory.
V. To conduct rangeland inventories, including degree of use and condition;
VI. To compute stocking rates, grazing use and rotational systems.
VII. To discuss, view and make decisions concerning management for proper range use.
VIII. To respect the right of wildlife and the entire ecological system using rangeland.
IX. To discuss, view and make decisions concerning rangeland improvement techniques for increased production.
