Course Description: | Covers how to construct one-of a-kind garments for their clients or themselves using techniques seen in couture and fine designer bridal wear. Special emphasis is placed on garment fit, the use of quality fabric, and workmanship in garment construction. A reference notebook of demonstrated sample techniques is completed. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Make necessary fitting alterations to the pattern.
II. Make any desired design changes to the pattern.
III. Select fabric appropriate to design.
IV. Complete a fitting muslin, demonstrating an understanding of proper fitting techniques.
V. Complete 3 garments of student¿s choice, showing fine workmanship, utilizing couture techniques where appropriate.
VI. Complete a notebook showing techniques demonstrated in class with samples.
VII. Demonstrate competencies using finer and/or more difficult fabrics used in bridal and evening wear.
