STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Select the appropriate pattern and suitable materials to construct a hat of their choice.
II. Practice the stitches and techniques used with felts and straws.
III. Construct the foundation and cover the shape.
IV. Finish the hat after facing the brims and binding the edges.
V. Use the design principles to select the appropriate trimmings.
VI. Compare working techniques between wool felt and straw.
VII. Describe how to make a headblock if needed.
VIII. Describe the process of renovations and alterations.
