 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 1. Learning to take correct body measurements
 2. Applying measurements to basic block drafts for children’s clothes
 3. Draft basic body blocks for children
 4. Test fit pattern with muslin mockup and how to adjust patterns
 5. Adaptation of blocks for various children’s clothes
 6. Mark patterns with proper labels for construction.
 7. Draft pattern to meet design specifications
 8. Test fit pattern design
 9. Construct final design in fashion fabric
 
 


 TOPICAL OUTLINE:
 
 I. Take and record correct body measurements for children.
 II.    Drafting the basic childrens body set: bodice front, bodice back, sleeves, skirt front, skirt back, pant front, pant back
 III.      Transfer pattern lines to fabric for test fit.
 IV. Adaptation of basic blocks for childrens-wear designs
 V. Draft pattern to meet design specification
 VI. Final design project in fashion fabric
