Course Description: | Teaches students to analyze the figure and adjust a commercial pattern for the figure variations. After entering body measurements into one of the following computer software ¿ Garment Designer, Pattern Master, and Dress Shop, the student will develop a personal sloper pattern. A sample notebook is completed with quarter-sized patterns using three pattern alteration methods: pivot and slide, seam method, and slash and spread |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Analyze the figure by taking three digital pictures of the body and comparing to pictures of the ¿ideal body¿.
II. Enter and print data from the ¿the Ideal Silhouette¿.
III. Identify the design principles and how to use them to camouflage or minimize figure variations.
IV. Take accurate body measurements on each other and use the measurents to develop patterns from the software.
V. cut, sew, and fit these patterns to produce a sloper.
VI. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of the three methods of pattern alternation.
VII. Make a notebook using quarter size patterns to demostrate the methods of patterns alterations for upper and lower body figure variations.
VIII. Change darts on patterns to change styles and to increase cup sizes.
IX. Make pattern alterations on a full size pattern and fit a muslin garment.
