STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Identify laces, treatments, suitable fabrics and projects.
II. Complete a French seam, roll & whip technique, apply gathered or flat lace to fabric, join laces, apply entredeux to lace and gathered fabric, make puffing, pin tucks (curved, straight & filled), shape lace, learn wing needle basics, sharks tooth technique and shadow technique.
III. Use above techniques on a sampler which can be used to make a sampler, bodice, quilt block, etc.
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Orientation
II. Identification of types of lace, treatments, and suitable fabrics.
III. Selection of project.
IV. Work on techniques: assemble notebook of techniques including samples, stitch notes, and adjustment of personal machine to accomplish heirloom techniques.
V. Use techniques to construct a project / sampler.
