STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Thread and identify balanced tension on the serger machine.
II. Clean, oil, balance the tension and learn serger maintenance.
III. Construct a garment using ribbing for the neck, cuffs, and waist.
IV. Select suitable decorative threads to stitch embellished samples.
V. serge rolled hems and flatlocking samples.
VI. Construct a project using decorative thread and at least one of the above techniques.
VII. Prepare samples of Lycra, Lingerie, Heirloom, Piecing, Piping, and Fishline Flounces.
VIII. Serge shirt construction details and install a zipper on samples.
IX. Prepare a reference notebook with handouts and samples.
