Course Description: | Provides the student with an interactive opportunity for students to develop enforcement strategies for investigating terrorism, intelligence gathering, and Justice. The course will focus on the history and development of traditional and non-traditional terrorist actors, cells, supporting countries, and homeland defensive methodologies for the security professional. The operational strategies of law enforcement in combating terrorism, including electronic surveillance, intelligence operations and covert operations will be discussed and applied in role-play situations. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Illustrate the elements used in defining terrorism, terrorists, and conspiracy
II. Examine, define, and identify the key elements of the major theories for the causes of terrorism
III. Examine law enforcement methods and procedures in accordance with legal guidelines to combat terrorism
IV. Demonstrate knowledge of terrorist enforcement practices and procedures through role-playing
V. Identify elements of domestic terrorism, international terrorism, eco-terrorism or other terrorist activity
VI. Establish a legally defensible intelligence file including raw intelligence, hard intelligence and properly disseminated intelligence datum
