  Course Description:Offers an in-depth analysis of ethical issues confronting the modern security management professional. Current issues are examined in light of both classical and contemporary standards. Students will articulate an understanding of the symbiotic nature of ethics, morality, and legality through application of written and oral skill in the resolution of police implementation and role conflict.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Identify ethical behavior, morality, and character as it applies to security management professionals.
 II.     Given real-world scenarios, identify the three categories of torts-negligence, intentional, and constitutional.
 III.    Paraphrase the code of ethics for security management professionals and define the meanings of key provisions.
 IV.     Identify the ramifications of unethical behavior on the part of the security management professional.
 V.      Identify the ramifications of libelous behavior on the part of the security management  professional and organization.
 VI.     Delineate the ethical and social expectations of society and the security management profession.
 VII.    Analyze given scenarios for possible breach of ethics and libelous behavior.
