STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Review rules and scoring system.
A. Recognize the different types of racquets.
B. Employ protective wear, safe hitting judgments and good sportsmanship.
C. Employ proper warm-up techniques.
D. Recognize and practice the various grips.
E. Identify errors and make corrections of each grip.
F. Explain and practice the correct body alignment and correct court position when hitting and receiving a shot.
G. Practice and demonstrate forehand and backhand drills.
H. Practice and demonstrate how to execute the various serves.
I. Identify and correct serving errors.
J. Demonstrate the various passing shots.
K. Explain and execute the various ceiling shots.
L. Discuss and execute the various kill shots.
M. Understand the strategies of singles play and doubles play.
N. Describe and practice offensive and defensive shots and positions.
