STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Identify and describe the different types of weapons used in fencing.
II. Know and apply the appropriate rules of bouting.
III. Demonstrate safe techniques when practicing or participating in a fencing match.
IV. Employ proper footwork and handwork as it applies to competitive fencing.
V. Practice and demonstrate appropriate competitive strategies and movements of attack, defense, and counterattack.
VI. Know the correct distance and right timing when engaging an opponent.
