STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Study the Chakra system within the body and its effects on health and well-being.
II. Learn the poses that affect each charka to help balance one system.
III. Develop a personal practice that benefits the individual¿s needs.
IV. Learn to expand Yoga¿s principles, Yamas and Niyamas, into ones life.
V. Develop a deeper sense of listening to the body and its needs, physically, nutritionally and emotionally.
VI. Study the progression the practice of Yoga.
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Each class period will review all previously learned movements and skills while focusing on one new movement and the mind/body skill that the motion represents. Specific applications for that movement in daily life, in sports and business will also be emphasized.
II. Tai-Chi and Human performance part two Yang style long form
III. Press and Push, Single Whip, Fist under Elbow, Repulse Monkey 3X
IV. Flying Diagonal, Lift Hands, White Crane Cools Wings, Pick up Needle from Sea Bottom
V. Fan through the Back, Turn and Chop, Intercept and Punch, Step up and Grasp Sparrow¿s Tail
VI. Single Whip, Wave Hands Like Clouds 3X, High Pat the Horse
VII. Tai-Chi, meditation and relaxation
VIII. Review of forms and applications in daily life.
