 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      These outcomes do not necessarily reflect the exact sequence or full scope of the course materials.
 II.     To recognize the essential components of a healthy lifestyle.
 III.    To apply tests of blood pressure, heart rate, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness and body composition.
 IV.     To review the contents of a computerized analysis of all fitness components evaluated.
 V.      To access current lifestyle as it relates to promoting optimal health.
 VI.     To recognize the essential components of fitness.
 VII.    To access the role of exercise in promoting optimal health.
 VIII.   To access the role of nutrition in promoting optimal health.
 IX.     To access the role of stress as it relates to optimal health.
 X       To recognize the correlation between lifestyle and coronary risk factors.
 XI.     To practice circuit training as part of each Fitness Center exercise session.
 XII.    To design an action plan to make positive lifestyle changes.

 II.     Assessment of blood pressure, heart rate, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness and body composition.

 V.      Understanding the components of fitness.
 VI.     Introduction to Basic Exercise Principles.
 VII.    The importance of warming up and cooling down.
 VIII.   Building muscular strength and endurance.
 IX.     The roles of nutrition in a healthy lifestyle.
 X       Understanding and controlling stress.
 XI.     Understanding and controlling coronary risk factors.
 XII.    Understanding the concept of Wellness.
 XIII.   Developing an action plan to make positive lifestyle changes.
