I. Demonstrates a variety of rock climbing techniques such as crack climbing, face climbing, friction, mantling, laybacks, etc.
II. Demonstrates knowledge of the history and foundation of rock climbing as part of the mountaineering art.
III. Demonstrates proper and safe techniques for rock climbing.
IV. Demonstrates the mechanics of descent (rappelling)
V. Demonstrates an awareness of sensitivity to the rock environment around them.
