 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      These outcomes do not necessarily reflect the exact sequence or full scope of the course material.
         A.      Review skills normally used in diving i.e., communication signals, basic buoyancy with BCD, mask clearing, regulator recovery and clearing, buddy breathing, etc.
         B.      Acclimate diver to the new environment without task loading.
         C.      Apply the essential skills required to simply dives i.e., assemble , adjust and don equipment, remove, replace and clear mask while underwater, etc.
         D.      Practice deep water entries.
         E.      Demonstrate a controlled emergency swimming ascent.
         F.      Practice cramp removal.
         G.      Perform a tired diver tow.
         H.      Demonstrate a 50 yard straight line surface swim with compass.
         I.      Execute a snorkel/regulator exchange.
         J.      Demonstrate how to remove and replace weight system and scuba unit at the surface.
         K.      Perform underwater navigation with compass.
         L.      Complete diving log entries.
