STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Identify the various mechanical systems of the mountain bike.
A. Assess basic maintenance and perform quick safety checks and repairs.
B. Demonstrate the various skills and techniques of mountain biking
C. Practice map and compass navigation.
D. Evaluate how to purchase a mountain bike, accessories, and components of a bike.
E. Employ aerobic fitness, strength and flexibility training, and proper nutrition.
F. Employ safe riding and trail etiquette.
