STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
A. Identify the subjective and objective dangers hiking and climbing at altitudes of 14,000 feet.
B. Discuss the naming and history of the Colorado Fourteeners.
C. Identify the traditional climbing routes of the Colorado Fourteeners on the appropriate topographical maps.
D. Experience and demonstrate the limitations of their motor skills at altitude.
E. Identify appropriate clothing, equipment, and techniques to safely hike a Colorado Fourteener.
