  Course Description:Introduces the principles and techniques of Ophthalmic Photography including Fundus Photography, Stereo Photography, patient management, and Flourescein Angiography. Basic interpretations of Flourescein Angiography in the context of normal versus pathological conditions are included.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Understand the ophthalmic anatomy as it relates to ophthalmic photography.
 II.     Understand basic photographic principles and how they apply to ophthalmic situations.
 III.    Understand the fundamentals of light and film.
 IV.     Be able to properly document pathologic conditions of the eye and ocular adnexa using fundus and external camera apparatus.
 V.      Be able to use a fundus camera to obtain a properly exposed and focused retinal image.
 VI.     Be able to understand the steps necessary in taking a Flourescein Angiogram.
 VII.    Understand image magnification principles as they relate to macro photography of the eye and adnexa.
 VIII.   Be able to properly perform care and maintenance of the fundus and external cameras.
 IX.     Properly execute stereo fundus photography.
 X       Understand the ¿normal¿ flourescein angiogram and recognize the pathologic differences disease processes introduce.
