Course Description: | Cover the basic principles governing light transmission, theories of light and electromagnetic radiation, refraction, refractive index, illumination, telescopes, microscopes, and introduces ray tracing as it relates to focal length. Also covered are mathematics as it relates to first-and second-order optics problems; a review of algebraic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and decimals; and basic ophthalmic mathematical formulas. |
