Course Description: | Provides a basic introduction in the proper use of implements used in manicures and pedicures. Theory and practical application of proper set-up, safety, sanitation, nail shapes, anatomy, product knowledge and terminology dealing with manicures and pedicures is covered. Training is done in a classroom or lab setting using models or other techniques. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. List the abilities of a good manicurist
II. Identify the four natural nail shapes
III. List proper implements, cosmetics, and materials used in manicures and pedicures.
IV. List proper procedure and sanitary and safety precautions for a manicure and pedicures.
V. Define the various massage techniques used when giving manicures and pedicures.
VI. Define the different types of manicures and pedicures.
VII. Provide a safe work environment.
