Course Description: | Provides a basic introduction into the proper use of implements used in manicures, pedicures and artificial nails. Theory and practical application of proper set-up, safety, sanitation, nail shapes, anatomy, product knowledge and terminology dealing with manicures, pedicures and artificial nails is covered. Training is done in a classroom or lab setting using models or other techniques. |

1. List the abilities of a good manicurist
2. Identify the four natural nail shapes
3. List proper implements, cosmetics, and materials used in manicuring and artificial nails
4. List proper procedure and sanitary and safety precautions for a manicure and/or artificial nails
5. Define the various massage techniques used when giving a manicure
6. Define the different types of manicures
7. Define introductory artificial nail techniques
8. Explain the procedure for pedicures
