STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Students will discuss the NCBTMB Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
II. Students will explain the importance of confidentiality and describe methods for maintaining the confidentiality of client information.
III. Students will discuss the ethical parameters of scope of practice.
IV. Students will explain professional boundaries and describe methods for establishing and maintaining boundaries.
V. Students will discuss the dynamics of effective communication with clients and peers.
VI. Students will discuss the basic psychological and physical dynamics of practitioner/client relationships.
VII. Students will discuss the characteristics of a safe, appropriate, desexualized touch experience
VIII. Students will discuss strategies for creating a safe, healing presence in the treatment setting.
