Course Description: | Prepares the candidate sitting for the National Registration/Certification Examination for Medical Assistant through review and practice. These examinations are given with the intent of evaluating the competency of entry-level practitioners in Medical Assisting, therefore supporting quality care in the office or clinic. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Identify and differentiate between American Medical Technologists and American Association of Medical Assistants as credentialing agencies.
II. Identify the purpose and development of National Competency Examinations.
III. Discuss the format and content of these examinations.
IV. Discuss taking and receipt of credentialing through examinations, including appeals and security, delivery, and score results.
V. Identify areas for study, as to areas of content in preparation for the examination.
VI. Discuss application process for qualifying for exam-taking, cost, administration times and methods, and scheduling of such exams.
VII. Discuss behaviors, supplies, preparation, and special accommodations for day of test-taking.
VIII. Successfully complete the practice test process in class.
IX. Demonstrate sufficient knowledge to complete practice test, therefore, demonstrating knowledge to successfully complete National Examination.
