 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Demonstrate increased ability and proficiency in correct use of capitalization & punctuation in medical transcription.
 II.     Demonstrate increased ability and proficiency in correct use of numbers, figures, and abbreviations in medical transcription.
 III.    Demonstrate increased ability and proficiency in knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease processes in medical transcription.
 IV.     Demonstrate increased ability and proficiency in knowledge of common laboratory tests, common drugs, and clinical medicine in medical transcription.
 V.      Demonstrate increased ability and proficiency in transcription of memorandums, letters, history and physicals, consultations, specialized medical tests to include radiographic testing, discharge summaries, operative reports, pathology, and postmortem reports.
 VI.     Demonstrate ability to proficiently transcribe simulated complete case history of a single patient at a professional, entry-level manner.
 VII.    Demonstrate increased level of professionalism through legal and ethical conduct in principles required in the medical transcription field.
