Course Description: | Identifies layout tools used in millwright. The course teaches how to layout base lines by arc method and 3-4-5 method using base lines for reference points when setting equipment. Students will also be able to identify and explain installation procedures for threaded, non-threaded, and insulation fasteners. In additiona, students will identify and describe gaskets and gasket materials; it also provides procedures for laying out, cutting and installing gaskets. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Identify and explain layout tools.
II. Demonstrate the lay out base lines by arc method.
III. Differentiate the types of lay out using base lines 3-4-5 method.
IV. Scribe straight lines.
V. Explain how to scribe perpendicular lines to a base line using a square.
VI. Calculate how to scribe angled lines using a combination square.
VII. Calculate scribe angled lines using a protractor.
VIII. Apply scribe circles using a dividers.
IX. Use trammel points to scribe circles..
