  Course Description:Introduces students to LightWave¿s Modeler program with an emphasis on modeling techniques. It also touches on LightWave`s Layout program for setting up scenes with texture maps and lighting. There will also be instruction on how to import models from other programs.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Explain and discuss video fundamentals. (I) (II) (III)
 II.     Design, plan and implement 3d models for use in 3d animations and scenes. (III) (X) (XI)
 III.    Develop storyboard and set up a scene in preparation for the modeling process.(III) (X) (XI)
 IV.     Visualize from their storyboards what needs to be modeled and what does not.(III)
 V.      Construct models of complex objects both organic and non-organic.(IV) (V) (VI)
 VI.     Set up a model for texture mapping including applying surface colors and names to specific geometry.(VII)
 VII.    Constructing and arranging scenes in Layout in preparation for animating or rendering still frames.(X) (XI) (XII)
