STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Exhibit a working knowledge of painting, printmaking and illustration history in the 20th and 21st centuries.
II. Demonstrate a familiarity of individual painters and illustrators along with their work.
III. Exhibit an understanding of design elements and composition as it is applies within artist work.
IV. Demonstrate a familiarity with art and illustration, history, terminology, tools, techniques and media.
V. Demonstrate working terminology relevant to the illustration industry.
VI. Exhibit a basic familiarity of illustration as it is applied into galleries, print, film, video and new media production.
VII. Identify traditional and electronic media used by present and past artist and illustrators.
