STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Explain terms and definitions as related to the tool and cutter.
II. Explain the use of each component of a tool and cutter grinder.
III. Explain the importance of primary and secondary clearance angles.
IV. Interpreting charts suggesting primary and secondary clearances for various high-speed cutters.
V. Select proper wheel style for flat or hollow forms.
VI. Demonstrate measuring clearance angles using both the dial indicator and cutter clearance gage.
VII. Explain the various types of toolrest supports.
VIII. Demonstrate using the various types of toolrest supports.
IX. List the steps for setting up the grinding machine for cutter sharpening.
