Course Description: | Introduces the student to the changing era of machining technology, emphasizing terminology, referencing and applications related to manufacturing environments. The fundamental use of bench tools, layout procedures, materials, precision measuring tools, machining processes, drilling and cut-off machines and other machining/manufacturing processes will be stressed. Skill competencies and standards will be identified. Use of the Machinery`s Handbook will be strictly required and particular competencies may require performance evaluations. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Follow safety manuals, regulations, and requirements.
II. Identify mechanical hardware and fasteners.
III. Understand common detailed drawings.
IV. Use hand tools properly and safely.

VIII. Identify and perform semi-precision & precision layouts.
