Course Description: | Creates an awareness and understanding of ecological issues while emphasizing the use of environmentally friendly materials and resources that do not compromise the effectiveness of the design. This course also investigates the practice of design to reduce the effects on the environment using renewable materials in the design and building for both residential and commercial property. Its emphases are to learn to conserve resources and to reduce the negative impact on the environment. |

STANDARD COMPETENCEIS:
I. List qualities of a green design concept
II. Describe the uses and practices of green design in the industry
III. Describe areas where green design should be considered
IV. Compose green design ideas for residential and commercial property
V. Draw floor plans (computer or hand) with green design ideas
VI. Create a list of concepts to utilize and consider when creating awareness of design
